Our Journey
Flying Mango started in 1997 at farmers’ markets and catering events, long before our doors opened in Beaverdale, Des Moines. Suzanne & Mike turned an unexpected opportunity into a neighborhood favorite, bringing bold, down-home flavors to the community. In January 2026 Flying Mango was purchased by Scott and Alexis Cosner. Keeping the Flying Mango spirit alive and providing memorable experiences for our guests are number one priority.

Our menu isn’t about reinvention it’s about doing classics right. Generous portions, smoky depth, and a touch of Caribbean fun make each dish a celebration of Southern, Cajun/Creole, and comfort food. Every plate is packed with flavor and crafted to leave you satisfied, and yes, there’s always room for dessert. We cook with heart, soul, and a little bit of sass in every bite.
