Catering
Catering and Concession is where Flying Mango all began – back in the days before food trucks … we had one of those before they were the rage too, named Magnolia Kitchen & Grocery. But back to catering, in 1997, Mike and Suzanne took what was a hobby feeding their friends and chose to create an actual business. It took off quickly after feeding attendees at a central Iowa 3-day Ag show, building a presence at the Valley Junction Farmer’s Market and landing a prized spot doing concession at the Des Moines Arts Festival for the several years when it was located on the bridges. For 5 years, we existed catering wedding, personal and corporate events. In 2003, we jumped into the brick and mortar restaurant world – which both Suzanne & Mike had much previous experience in.
Planning some event where you really want to feed your friends or clients our well-known grub? There are a few ways we can serve you based on your needs.
Custom Packages
are a bit like a full catering event, but without us serving you. We suggest you use our Dinner Menu as a starting point to generate ideas. You will complete the form above. After we review your information, the dialog and revisions can begin. A formal proposal will be provided, so we both are on the same page. A deposit will be required. You come to pick these up. They can be hot and ready to eat, or cold for you to reheat.
Full Service Cater
Yes, sometimes we party! A full-service cater would mean you want us to provide service alongside the food we provide. Flying Mango does carry a full liquor license. There are many variables that work into a quote for a full-service cater, so please fill out the form above. We do not take on as many of these as we once did because so many of our favorite servers are busy caring for our dining room guests. After we review your form, we will decide if providing you full service can work alongside caring for the restaurant guests. No harm in checking. If we choose to proceed, a formal proposal will be provided. A deposit will be required. Our dining room can also be used for PRIVATE PARTIES on days we do not have regular dinner hours. Sales minimums do apply for both Full Service and Private Dining.
